An Alliance World of Warcraft Guild.

Nevermore was formed in January 2007, towards the end of "vanilla" World of Warcraft. Our goal was to meet every challenge that Blizzard could throw at us in the Burning Crusade and to make a name for ourselves in the process.

While the Guild name may be relatively new, our members were not - all of them having experience spanning the first baby-steps into the fiery Molten Core and eventually the Necropolis of Naxxramas.

Underpinning our aim was how we intended to get there. We were not going to raid as often as other Guilds (Nevermore raid four days per week) but in our attitude and professionalism we would be even more "hardcore".

We would select only the best people, who were prepared to endure the frustration of being stuck on a challenging boss, and still arrive prepared and on time, giving their best effort until the encounter was defeated.

Dedication is something which is very important to us, and it is one of the primary things we look for when recruiting new people.

On the 9th of February, Nevermore stepped into Karazhan for the first time.

In our first night in the fabled residence of Medhivh, we cleared everything up to The Curator with two groups of ten Raiders.

We had completely cleared Karazhan by the end of the first week, and had a proud moment went both groups downed Nightbane for the first time within 30 minutes of each other, on the 1st of March.

The next evening, the 10th of February, saw our first 25 man raid (or more accurately for the time, 23-Man). Destination - Gruul's Lair in Blade's Edge Mountains. We defeated High King Maulgar and his entourage and took or first attempts at the original pre-nerf Gruul.

Gruul himself was defeated, in his pre-nerfed state shortly after and with only 23 people. With the Cud'gel of Kar'desh complete we could now face Serpentshrine.

In the meantime, everyone in the Guild had been working tirelesly to rescue the lowly Gnome "Millhouse Manastorm", to obtain the Tempest Key. After running many heroics, there was only one more obstacle in the way - Magtheridon.

On the 11th of April we entered his Lair and defeated the gruesome Pit Lord. Unlike so many other Guilds this wasn't done by stacking Warlocks but by kiting the Infernals with Hunters.

Anyone else who experienced the monstrosity which was pre-nerf Serpentshrine Cavern will know it wasn't a pretty place.

We made some attempts on The Lurker Below, (in the days when he was likely to despawn) and Hydross, and decided to take the elemental first. Hydross went down on the 3rd of May, with Lurker and Fathom-Lord (and Void Reaver in an excursion to Tempest Keep) following in the next raids. On the 20th of June, we defeated Vashj and could mark Serpentshrine Cavern as being "cleared".

Tempest Keep - home of Kael'Thas Sunstrider.

Nevermore quickly defeated Void Reaver, Al'ar, and Solarian, and then we were left with only Kael'Thas to contend with. Without a shadow of a doubt, Kael'Thas was the hardest encounter we faced in The Burning Crusade (including all the content in Black Temple). Many Guilds on Silvermoon collapsed in the wake of this boss, but Nevermore triumphed and joined the very few Guilds in the world at that time who were "Black Temple Guilds", killing Kael'Thas for the first time on 1st August.

Hyjal Summit. The Lich Rage Winterchill was defeated immediately after Kael'Thas, attuning most of the Guild to Black Temple, with the rest following in the next weeks.

Like many Guilds, we decided to leave Hyjal progression at that point (when there were more trash waves, more mobs, and no drops) and focus on Black Temple.

However, we quickly cleared all of Hyjal within a week, leaving us only with the "pre-fix" Archimonde, himself defeated on the 29th of August.

Black Temple. Lair of Illidan Stormrage, and the final challenge of The Burning Crusade.

We quickly cleared through to Teron Gorefiend. After defeating Archimonde, we came back to Black Temple and immediately defeated both Gurtogg Bloodboil and Reliquary of Souls. After gearing everyone with Shadow Resistance gear from the few Hearts we possessed at that time, we took down Mother Sharahz and Illidari Council. Finally we faced Illidan himself, defeating him on the 30th of October.

Like the few other 5/5 9/9 Guilds at that time, the arrival of Zul'Aman provided us with a new challenge while waiting for the Sunwell. The instance was of course cleared on the release day, but in the meantime we are often found in there farming the [Amani War Bear] while we gear up for Sunwell.

We are determined to keep our place as one of the very best Guilds on Silvermoon and we are confident we will be in the top couple of Guilds despite raiding 4 days per week, just as we have been throughout The Burning Crusade.

Nevermore are currently 5/6 in Sunwell, with only Kil'Jaeden left to defeat before we can mark the Burning Crusade chapter of our journey as closed.

Next up, Wrath of the Lich King - where we are determined to continue our success story until we eventually face off against Arthas himself.

The Officer Staff of Nevermore currently comprises Tauftamir and Shizaara, who originally founded the Guild. Tauftamir is the Raid Officer, while Shizaara handles Recruitment.

If you need to contact us, feel free to use the Forum Private Messaging system or contact us in game. For applicants to Nevermore, we have produced a Frequently Asked Questions thread which should answer most general enquries.

This year we celebrated our first year as a Raiding Guild, and hope for many more to come as we plough through whatever challenges Blizzard throw our way in the future.

If you want to be part of this story, and join a group of dedicated players who are passionate about World of Warcraft, and care about how you achieve your success, then you should read more on our Recruitment Page.

The Guild will continue on it's journey, with top rankings in Sunwell and then onwards into the Wrath of the Lich King and beyond.

We hope you have enjoyed reading a little about the history of Nevermore.
